Biology & Pharmaceutical Research Institute
Biology & Pharmaceutical Research Institute, formerly known as Biotechnology Research Lab, was established in December 2016. It is currently composed of biotechnology research lab and pharmaceutical research lab. Since 2014 Biology & Pharmaceutical Research Institute has become the executive council member of Bio-pesticides and Bio-prevention Industrial Technology Innovation Strategic Alliances. In 2016, the institute joined Chinese Soil and Environment Remediation Alliances.
Biology & Pharmaceutical Research Institute has a research team of more than 40 employees, including 2 professorates senior engineer and 10 senior engineers. Over 90% of the employees are under 45 years old with master or doctor degrees. Since the year of 2011 the institute has been in charge of many national and provincial projects, including the national “863” projects, subtopics of the 12th five-year plan and the 13th five-year plan, projects of National Nature and Science Foundation and Liaoning Science Foundation. The institute has established a long-term cooperative relationship with Wuhan University, Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics (Chinese Academy of Sciences), Tsinghua University, Plant Protection Institute of Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Shenyang Agricultural University, China Agricultural University, Shenyang Pharmaceutical University and other international well-known universities and institutes.
Biotechnology research lab
Biotechnology research lab currently has four research areas: soil remediation，crop regulation, biochemical engineering and functional additives. Aiming at crops high-yielding, high nutrition-use efficiency and ecological environment safety, the lab have developed novel techniques for farmland nutrition management, water efficiency improvement and crop high yielding. Biotechnology research lab have been investigating the synergetic effects between different techniques used in the comprehensive systems. Since the lab was established, more than 70 patents have been filed, and >40 patents have been licensed. Many projects have been realized industrialization and highly admitted by the clients.
This area focuses on the remediation of trouble soil and research on treatment, including remediation of contaminated site, treatment of soil desertification and salinization and improvement of farmland soil. In the field of remediation of contaminated site, the group have been developing risk assessment methods, electrokinetic remediation and biological remediation techniques system. Aiming at the treatment of soil desertification, the group built up soil improvement and crops growth adjust and control techniques system. In the field of improvement of salinization soil, the process has been divided in obstruction factor improvement, soil probiotics establishment, soil fertility and topsoil curing, etc. The group have been carried out the improvement of salinization soil and green recycling agriculture demonstration project at Heilongjiang in 2018.
With the complete systems of screening and evaluation for crop regulation, this research group have already developed functional fertilizers, seed treating chemicals, biostimulants, microbial resistant-inducers and other related products. Chelated fertilizer has been industrialized with the significant yield-increasing over 10%; the alfata has been finished the technical identification with an effect over 15% and has been realized the quantity production and marketing.
Biochemical engineering research group has long been focused on the development of environmental microbial resources and the utilization of biomass resources, and has a first-class development platform of microbial preparation and production capacity of microbial agent. In bio-environmental technology field the research group is committed to solving environmental pollution problems through natural forces. It has the comprehensive environmental microbial strain resource library and 7 authorized invention patents which are related to the research field. The research group can quickly provide solutions for different types of wastewater treatment needs. The strains of the microbial agents are all screened and extracted from the natural environment. The continuous depletion of microbial agents by on-line culture effectively enhances the degradation ability and stability of the microorganisms. At present, synergistic microbial agents of COD removal and continuous feeding technology of nitrifying bacteria on-line culture have completed a number of technical transformations.
Based on the separation and analytical platforms, this group separate and purify natural products, complex chemical products as well as biological products. Specifically, the researchers screen and evaluate the agricultural additives for the further application of fertilizers. Meanwhile the group develops techniques of the new functional additives, application chemicals, extract and separation technology of plant extract, microimpurity separation and identification. Serving as additives in fertilizers, novel chelants and disintigrants investigated in this group have been industrialized and approved as international advanced techniques by China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation.
Pharmaceutical research Lab
Pharmaceutical research Lab has successfully established an integrated technology platform with drug synthesis, molecular biology and pharmaceutical analysis for drug discovery. The group mainly works on the research and development of antineoplastic and anti-infective drug. Configuring with UPLC-MS/MS, HPLC, fluorescent quantitative PCR, molecular imager ChemiDoc XRS+ System, etc., the Lab can carry out drug synthesis, cytotoxic activity screening, IDO inhibitor activity screening, antifungal activity screening, mechanism of action research, pharmacokinetic study, pharmaceutical analysis, etc.
The group has obtained preferable progress in the field of irrigation of bladder and small molecule IDO inhibitor. Until now the group have filed more than 20 Chinese and PCT patents and some of them have been licensed in China, America, Japan, and other countries.
The Lab expects cooperation and service on new drug research, medical intermediate technological development, drug activity screening, pharmacokinetic study, etc.
